USAID U.S Assistance to Pakistan Economic and Social Foundations

Photo: USAID For the past six decades, the United States has been a reliable and committed partner of Pakistan, extending considerable resources to help the country lay the economic and social foundations for a better future for its people.
 
The majority of U.S. economic assistance over the years has been delivered by the U.S.Agency for International Development (USAID) and its predecessor organizations. USAID's interventions have aimed at empowering the Pakistani population, strengthening the country's institutions and key services, and equipping the country with tools and processes to become self-reliant.

This publication highlights some of the more significant contributions of the American people to Pakistan's socio-economic development. It covers U.S. support in education, professional training, economic growth, agriculture, energy, infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, health care, and humanitarian assistance most recently disaster relief and recovery efforts following the 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods.

USAID vacancies for the hiring of local staff are posted on the US Embassy website along with other US agencies vacancies. American and Third Country Nationals (TCNs) wishing to work with USAID/Pakistan should look for vacancies on USAID Global website. Please use the links given on the right side bar to see fresh vacancies.

Prospective Pakistani applicants can now submit their applications online through the U.S. Embassy website against the advertised positions.

USAID’s Human Resource Office considers only those applications that are received in response to the advertised positions and received within the prescribed deadline.
